Day 1 : Thursday 23rd April Lille - Amiens
You will be met by your guide and driver in Lille around 10.00am. You will receive a set of maps and tourist information leaflets about the areas that you will visit.. On the way to Amiens you will visit VC Corner Australian Cemetery and Fromelles Australian Memorial Park.
The battle of Fromelles was for the AIF the first experience on the Western Front an in only one day the 5th Division had more than 5.500 casualties.
On the way to the Somme you will discover the first signs of the Great War, the commonwealth war cemeteries and the ancient battlefields. We will stop at Pozieres to retrace the footsteps of the 1st, 2nd and 4th Australian Divisions who in 45 days, launched 19 attacks and lost 23,000 men in an area of about two square miles. You will visit the 'Windmill' site, Mouquet Farm, the Thiepval Memorial and the visitor's centre.
In Beaumont Hamel you will see the remains of a battlefield site and in La Boiselle, the Lochnagar Crater and the Sausage Valley.
After the check-in, in your hotel in Amiens, you will walk to the scenic area of St Leu for the evening meal.

Day 2 : Friday 24th April: Amiens - Montbrehain - Amiens
Today you will follow the route from Villers Bretonneux to Montbrehain (the last 100 days of War for the Australians and the most bloodiest.)
We start with the visit of the the site of the Battle of Le Hamel. This is the battle of Monash and for the first time Australians fought under command of an Austalian general.
Visit to the the 3rd Division Memorial at Sailly Le Sec, Mont St Quentin, Peronne, Bellenglise and St Ricquier before returning to your hotel in Amiens.

- Dinner in Amiens in a local restaurant

Day 3 : Saturday 25th April: ANZAC DAY: Amiens - Ypres
A pre dawn wake up call will be arranged along with coffee and tea. You will then depart for the Dawn service ceremony at the Australian War Memorial in Villers-Bretonneux.
Following the service you will have breakfast and then visit the, School and Museum. We will drive to Bullecourt, visit the little museum of the ancient maire Mr Jean Letaille, visit the digger memorial and continue to Ypres.
After the Last Post, dinner will take place in an historic site in Ypres where a special Flemish Breughel meal will be served followed by a special Aussie evening:
A local band will play Aussie music from WWI and the traditional Two up game will be played.

Day 4: Sunday 26th April: Ypres - Lille
At the beginning of the tour you will stop at the new visitor centre in Passchendaele followed by Tyne Cot cemetery, the largest Commonwealth Cemetery in the world, where two Australian VC winners, Capt. Jeffries and Sgt McGee are buried.
Zonnebeke and Broodseinde will always be related to the Australians and at the Paschendaele Memorial Museum you will experience going down in a dugout.
After lunch in Polygon Wood, you will visit Hill 60, the reconstructed German Trenches at Bayernwald loegsteert Wood Memorial. Then we will take you through Messines and you will have a look at the Mine Crater,
- Lunch is in Polygon Wood
- Tour ends at Lille train station around 18.00 hour.


PRICE: Per person based on two sharing
4 day package : 1780 A$ (single supplement 450 A$)

Departure: Tour starts at 10 am from Lille railway station
Return : Tour ends at 18.00 pm at Lille railway station.
