This museum displays the whole range of fine arts for the period 1848-1914 : paintings, pastels, sculptures and decorative arts are on show permanently. Our hostess will take you to the galleries without you having to line up, she will give you your audio guide (available in French, English, Spanish, German, Italian or Japanese) for the permanent collections and the temporary exhibitions. The museum is most appreciated in particular for its impressionist collection (Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Renoir... but also for the very wide range of artistic themes covering that period : Academicism, Naturalism, Symbolism, Art nouveau. We will then take you just round the corner from the Museum to the "Maison des Polytechniciens", a magnificent 18th century mansion - former hotel Poulpry. There you will enjoy a gourmet dinner : the most beautiful and tasteful dishes to prove that cooking is an art in which the French are excellent ! An exceptional evening ! This enchanting 17th century château, a masterpiece which inspired Louis XIVth to build Versailles, opens its doors to you. The tour begins with a visit to the "Carriage Museum" (from roman carriage to 20th century saloon cars) followed by dinner which will be served at the "Ecureuil" restaurant in the château grounds. At sunset you can visit the château (audio guides included) and stroll around the gardens brilliantly lit by 2000 candles and, to accompany these exceptional moments, recorded classical music is played from one end of the garden.
