Guided visit of the Royal Apartments, the hall of Mirrors and the Queen’s bedroom. On the way to Fontainebleau we will cross and visit the charming village of Barbizon, an artistic centre since the 19th century. Then, audio-guided visit of the Palace of Fontainebleau where you will appreciate various styles of architecture, magnificent decorum and ancient pieces of furniture. These are the richest you can find in France. Our guide-interpreter will revive the atmosphere of the different periods: from Saint-Louis to Napoleon III not forgetting François 1st and Napoleon 1st. The vineyards of the Champagne region spread out as you travel along country roads to the historic Château of the Princes de Condé, where you can admire the magnificent paintings of Oudry and Watteau. A late morning visit to the Moët & Chandon wine cellars is followed by lunch near Epernay with a traditional menu from the Champagne region. The afternoon begins with a visit to the world famous Mumm champagne house where an expert explains the method of Champagne making from grape picking to bottling. Return to Paris by expressway.

After a glance at the Pegasus Bridge, onto the Pegasus Memorial for an emotional visit as you relive the most important hours of the D-Day landings and the battle of Normandy.
After lunch, discovery of the Pointe du Hoc, of the Batteries de Longues and a visit to the American cemetery of Saint Laurent. On the return journey stop at Omaha then Arromanches to have a look at the remains of the artificial bridge which was built by the allied forces in under 15 days.

Reaching the Loire valley, you will begin your "Renaissance" day by a visit of the Chateau de Blois. This Royal Castle gathers in the same courtyard four different style wings built at four different ages : a panorama of the French architecture. Then on to Cheverny to visit this private residence which retained its 17th century furniture. After lunch you will visit the Chateau de Chambord, an imposing work ordered by François 1er, with its double-spiral staircase.
