Daily excursions are organised in consultation with the guests.
They may include:
- Nature discovery with a rim walk along the Larzac plateau (your
guide will point to you the local wildlife and flora including
delicate native orchids)
- Gastronomy, with a visit to the local Roquefort cheese cellars
including meeting the producers, cheese-making commentary and
free tasting
- History: plunge into the Crusades era with a visit to the local
castles, meet the castle owners and be offered a glass of the
locally made spice-wine.
- Prehistory: the region of Aveyron offers a little-known treasure
of well-preserved neo-lithic dolmens dating to 5000 BC.
- Traditions: Meet Jean-Pierre Romiguier, who fascinates world-famous
fashion designers and passers-by alike with the hand-made leather
goods he creates in his workshop located in a remote forest
- Monuments: Architectural wonders such as the nearby 12th Century
Abbey of Sylvanes
More options to discover the region's wide open spaces include
mountain bikes (provided), bushwalking and horse riding. Wild

About
the accommodation:
Most units sleep 2 but some can accommodate up to 6 people.
They come in various sizes and configurations, sometimes with
split levels. All radiate French country charm with lovely fabrics,
warm colours, exposed beams, the occasional piece of ancient furniture,
etc.
All units have a private terrace, deck or large balcony with garden
furniture.
All have a fully equipped kitchen. Not that you will need to cook
much because all meals are included
How
to get there:
Montpellier or Toulouse are both easy to get to by air or TGV
train. From there, transfers to the property are arranged, it's
an hour's drive to Montpellier, two hours to Toulouse.
Mas de Salel is located just outside Montagnol, a tiny village
a few kilometres west of Millau.
